Meeting with business entities from Budva marked the continuation of the project Tax Caravan that will be implemented from April 12th to May 17th by Tax Administration, in cooperation with MEF.
The Director of Tax Administration Mr Mugosa, reminded the attendees on the success and importance the Tax Caravan activities had in preparing last year’s tourist season. In his introductory speech he emphasized that in accordance with well-established good practice, this year’s work of tax inspectors will be recognised by righteous and correct approach to tax payers as well as absolute indiscrimination in sanctioning irregular business operations by using every available legal mechanism. He said that the special attention would be given to those tax payers that in the previous period had avoided settling their tax duties.
On behalf of Montenegrin Employers Federation, participants were welcomed by MEF Vice-President, Ms Anita Mitrovic Milic who pointed out that the aim of cooperation between MEF and Tax Administration was to strengthen tax discipline not only for the sake of ensuring budgetary revenues, but also in order to build better business environment by sanctioning unfair competition and by establishing fair market play as necessary preconditions for successful business operations.
After the meeting in Budva, Tax Caravan will continue in Kotor on April 19th at 1 p.m.
