Conference on Women Leadership and Management in Montenegro

In cooperation with Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Directorate for SME Development – Ministry of Economy and Business Women Association of Montenegro, MEF and ILO hosted a Conference named “Women in Management in Montenegro – Support to Women’s Leadership and Career Development in Montenegro”, today in Podgorica.

The event was organized within the project Women in Management in Montenegro – Support to Women’s Leadership and Career Development in Montenegro implemented by the MEF and financed by the ILO. This project is a part of a regional project of the ILO “Promoting Inclusive Labor Market Solutions in the Western Balkans”

In the opening session, event participants were welcomed by: Ms. Suzana Radulovic, MEF Secretary General, Ms. Katarina Crnjanski Vlajcic, ILO Regional Project Manager, Ms. Nada Drobnjak, a President of Gender Equality Board of the Parliament of Montenegro, Ms. Vukica Jelic, a State Secretary at the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, Ms. BIljana Pejovic, a Head of Gender Equality Department at the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights, Mr. Aleksandar Pavicevic, a Director of the Directorate for SME Development and Ms. Ljubica Kostic Bukarica, a President of Business Women Association of Montenegro.

In the panel on situation and perspectives for career development of women Ms. Marijana Camovic, a President of Trade Union of Media of Montenegro, spoke about participation of women in management structures of media and changes that sector underwent in recent years. A special attention of participants was drawn by good practices examples regarding support to women managers and their career development presented by companies - Ms. Marijana Draskovic, a Head of Back Office Department at Societe Generale Montenegro and Milena Kalezic, a Director of PR Center.

MEF representative, Ms. Zvezdana Oluic, presented the findings of a survey on women in management in Montenegrin companies that MEF realized in cooperation with E3 Consulting agency, from 1st to 26th of June 2017, among 100 companies. Moreover, she presented numerous activities that MEF will undertake by the end of the year within the project realized with ILO aimed at promotion of women managers and their career development as well as at contributing to future actions of companies directed towards adoption of policies and launching of initiatives that will enable greater participation of women in different and top management structures of companies in Montenegro.
