VII regular Social Council session held today

VII regular Social Council session chaired by the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Mr Kemal Purisic, took place today, February 14th 2018.

The Minister of Finance Mr Darko Radunovic and the State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Ms Nina Vujosevic also participated in today’s session, following the Initiative to negotiate minimum wage increase, labor costs reduction and introduction of nontaxable wage limit.

Apart from the Initiative, the Social Council considered and gave opinion on the Draft Law on the Amendments to the Law on Occupational Health and Safety and the Draft Labor Law.

Once the arguments regarding the Initiative were shared by each constituent of the Council, it is concluded that there is a need to establish a working group which, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, will make the analysis aimed to consider the increase of minimum wage and its accompanying effects, labor costs reduction and introduction of nontaxable wage limit. The agreed deadline for completion of the analysis is one month, after which the Social Council session will take place.

The Social Council gave positive opinion to the Draft Law on the Amendments to the Law on Occupational Health and Safety.

As for the Draft Labor Law, the Council members reckoned there was room to harmonize certain arguments within the Draft, after which the Social Council members will plead at the electronic session.
