Cooperation between Hungary and Montenegro to be intensified

Suzana Radulovic, MEF Secretary General, met with Mr Peter Lorincze, a Chief Adviser to the Executive Chairman of Hungarian National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (NAEE) and a member of the Executive Board of BIAC.

Mr. Lirinecze’s visit to MEF was motivated by the intention to present the importance and the scope of actions of BIAC for employers’ organizations of those countries on the accession path to the EU as well as the modalities of cooperation between Montenegro and Hungary.

According to Mr. Lorincze, the objective of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to OECD (BIAC) is to involve business communities from the countries currently not in the OECD or the EU but striving to become members in the future. MEF Secretary General acquainted the Hungarian colleague with MEF experience in relation to BIAC, having expressed the willingness of MEF to consider the modalities of future participation in that international organization.

It was then discussed about the economic situation in Montenegro, the condition and structure of Montenegrin economy and possibilities of a more intensive cooperation with Hungarian employers’ organizations for the exchange of good business practices examples. The need to strengthen the sector of secondary agricultural production was especially emphasized in order to have more quality domestic food products that would satisfy the needs of Montenegrin tourism industry. To that end, Mr. Lorincze proposed a visit to be made by Montenegrin business delegation to Hungarian companies successfully operating in the afore-mentioned sector. The details of the visit that will be organized in autumn this year will be agreed in the coming months.
