“THE BEST WOMEN MANAGERS in Montenegro” awards and MEF plaques for contribution to economic empowerment of women

With the aim of promoting successful business women who hold responsible and professional attitude in performing their work and thus confirm the power of women leadership and larger representation of women at management positions, MEF awarded “THE BEST WOMEN MANAGERS in Montenegro” prizes for 2017.

In addition, two representatives of private and public sector were awarded with MEF Plaques for special contribution to economic empowerment of women in Montenegro.

Twelve equal awards were given to women managers – successful business women for the results accomplished in 2017, in four categories: (1) economy, (2) public sector, (3) civil society sector and (4) media.

In the category ECONOMY, winners of “THE BEST WOMEN MANAGERS in Montenegro” award were: Darinka Stanic, Head of the Branch Office of Societe Generale Bank Montenegro, Ksenija Ikovic, Head of Design at Bild Studio LLC and Zorica Miskovic Pavicevic, CEO at Delta M CG LLC.

In the category PUBLIC SECTOR, winners of “THE BEST WOMEN MANAGERS in Montenegro” award were: Ana Vukadinovic, General Director of the Directorate for Economic and Cultural Diplomacy at the Ministry of External Affairs, Nemsa Omerhodzic, Vice-President at the Municipality of Bijelo Polje and Snezana Burzan, Executive Director at Cultural and Informative Center “Budo Tomovic”.

In the category CIVIL SOCIETY SECTOR, “THE BEST WOMEN MANAGERS in Montenegro” award went to: Ana Novakovic, Executive Director at the Center for NGO Development, Biljana Zekovic, Executive Director at SOS Telephone for Women and Children – Victims of Violence Podgorica and Maja Raicevic, Executive Director at Women’s Rights Center.

In the category MEDIA, “THE BEST WOMEN MANAGERS in Montenegro” award was shared among Marijana Bojanic, Dxecutive director at Television Vijesti, Marija Razic, Morning Program Editor at Radio and Television of Montenegro and Merisa Suljevic, Executive Director at Sutonprint LLC and Marketing Director at Gracija magazine.

MEF PLAQUES were awarded to Milosava Mila Zugic, a member of MEF Management Board and the first president of Business Women Association of Montenegro for her contribution to economic empowerment of women in business and management and to Nada Drobnjak, President of Parliamentary Board for Gender Equality for her overall contribution to economic empowerment of women in Montenegro. Plaques were awarded by Svetlana Vuksanovic, MEF President and Suzana Radulovic, MEF Secretary General.

In conclusion, and following the awarding ceremony, there was first public presentation of a twelve-minutes-long MEF documentary film on women in management in Montenegro.

Today’s ceremony was a part of the final conference of the project “Women in Management in Montenegro: Support to Leadership and Professional Development of Women in Montenegro, implemented by the Montenegrin Employers Federation with the support of the International Labor Organization (ILO), in the framework of a regional project jointly implemented by the ILO and the UNDP “Promotion of Inclusive Labor Market Solutions in the Western Balkans” financed by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). The conference was hosted by the MEF and the ILO, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and Business Women Association of Montenegro.
