Reacting to the crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic, Montenegro was one of the first countries to introduce temporary measures and, thanks to timely and good organization and to adequate actions, respond to the need to preserve the citizens’ health in the best possible way.
We expect that the Government of Montenegro will provide equally intensive support in mitigation of the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic primarily through the new, third package of economic support measures for companies, which should be adopted as soon as possible while containing the solutions that will ensure liquidity and continuity of businesses as well as preservation of jobs.
In order to support such processes, MEF has prepared a Renewed (third) Proposal of Measures by the MEF Management Board. It was created on the basis of the expressed needs of employers – MEF members, as well as the outcomes of the MEF survey "Impact of the COVID-19 crisis on business operations of Montenegrin employers" conducted with technical support of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Renewed (third) Proposal of Measures by the MEF Management Board was submitted to the Government of Montenegro and the National Coordination Body on May 27, 2020.
