MEF at CEELAB final conference

MEF representatives took part in the final conference of the two-year long project CEELAB that was held in Budapest in order to present the accomplished results and review the possibilities for further development and improvement of regional cooperation. Furthermore, the conference was a good opportunity for presentation of the Report on Social Dialogue and Labor Market Reform during a Global Economic Crisis Affecting Central and Eastern Europe.

CEELAB project was implemented by Business Hungary as a lead with partners: MEF, ZDS, ELTE and PRAVRI.

In the introductory part, participants were addressed by the host – a Professor at the Faculty of Law in Budapest, which were engaged as researchers in the project as well as the representatives of international organizations – Marcus Pilgrim, Director of ILO Office for Central and Eastern Europe and Maxime Cerutti, Director of BusinessEurope's Social Affairs department. A presentation of the above mentioned Report was followed by a panel discussion “The Future of Social Dialogue in Central and Eastern Europe”. Along with Filip Lazovic, MEF Legal Affairs Adviser the panelists included: Maja Soba Tovsak (ZDS), Biserka Sladovic (CEA), Balint Adrienn (Business Hungary) and Alin Stoica (Emplozers Organization Concordia from Romania).

This two-year long project resulted in reports on the impact of global economic crisis on social partners in Western and Eastern Europe as well as to their activities related to labor market reforms. Moreover, each country participating in the project got its own national report brought by a research done by the Labor Legislation Department of the Faculty of Law in Budapest.
