MEF President, Ms. Svetlana Vuksanovic, had a meeting today with a General Director of IVSC Mr. Nick Talbot and a President of the Management Board of the Chamber of Valuers of Montengro (a member of IVSC), Mr. Slavko Rakocevic.

They discussed about the challenges in implementation of international valuation standards in Montenegro, in line with requirements set forward by articles 25 and 26 of the Law on Accounting (Official Gazette of Montenegro 052/16 from August 9th 2016) which prescribe that valuation of companies’ property (real estates, machines, devices and equipment) should be done in accordance with the valuation methodology based on International Valuation Standards.

They exchanged information and experiences in the field of education/certification of valuers in Montenegro as well as about the priorities in the area of affirmation of valuers’ profession.

With the aim of promoting valuers’ profession in Montenegro, ensuring the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the area and establishing cooperation with relevant organizations at the international level, a trilateral Business Cooperation Agreement between the MEF, the Chamber of Valuers of Montenegro and the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) was concluded
